Private and Semi-private lessons for students who possess good eye-hand-foot coordination, excellent focus and a healthy respect for machines.

Machine-Sewing Readiness Evaluation* 
Is your student interested in machine sewing, but you're not quite sure if they are ready? In this 2-hour, one-on-one lesson your student will be introduced to the basics of safe sewing machine operation while completing a simple, fun project. $50 lesson fee includes all materials, instruction and a private phone call after the lesson where I will give you my assessment of your sewers readiness and recommendations for the next steps.  

* this evaluation is required to join an after school group; or vacation break or summer group workshops.

In this initial lesson students will be introduced to the basics of safe machine operation including: what's what on the machine, seam allowances, straight stitch and square turns. Use one of Jeanette's studio machines or, if you have one, bring your own machine. $50 for 2-hour, one-on-one private lesson, $30 per student for 2 students, includes materials to complete a small tote bag.

Hello Machine!
You have a machine but you're not quite sure how it all works? Get to know your sewing machine in this fun, informative lesson. We'll cover threading the machine, making a bobbin, tension, seam allowances, foot and stitch changes and effective use of your machine's owner's manual to trouble shoot.
$50 fee for 2-hour, one-on-one private lesson, $65 for 2 participants
$60 fee for a 3-hour lesson, one-on-one private lesson, $80 for 2 participants

Read This Before You Buy a Machine
On-Going Lessons
Private or small group lessons (2-3 students) individually created so that students can learn to do what they want to do: fancy stitches, zippers, button holes, sewing curves, using patterns, fabric cutting techniques and more. Most students benefit from a series of regular lessons. See below for fees.

Fees for Continuing Private One-on-One Lessons*:
90 minutes - $40
Two hours - $50
Three hours - $60


Fees for Continuing Small Group Lesson (2-3 students)*:
90 minutes - $20 per student
Two hours - $30 per student
Three hours - $40 per student
